Our story begins with  in the '70s when Edgardo Riveros, our founder   first met Eugene Gendlin, through his book _cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_la Theory of Personality Change, a work that he translated into Spanish, beginning a deeply felt path, following and exploring change from the Experiential Paradigm. Since then to date in different areas and on different continents.

Edgardo Riveros defends his thesis at Universidad Chile

Thesis director Salvador Cifuente, Founder of the Person Centered Approach in Chile.

First Thesis in Spanish referring to the work of Eugene Gendlin  “Therapeutic language in Client-Centered Psychotherapy and Experiential Therapy”.

Foundation of the Humanist Approach in Bolivia.

Professor at the Bolivian Catholic University.

First publication of the Journal of Pedagogical Studies of the Austral University of Chile, "Education and Humanistic Psychology", where the thought of E. Gendlin is exposed.

1979-1980

Professor  in Humanistic Psychology. University of San Simon Cochabamba Bolivia.

1986

Foundation of the Persona Institute in the city of Concepción - Chile. Organization specialized in:

Chicago  October 30 First personal meeting with Eugene Gendlin.

Invitation from E. Gendlin and start of the Translation plan of the main works of E. Gendlin known to date.

1992

Full Professor Chair of  Experiential Psychotherapy of Eugene Gendlin and Focusing. University of Tarapacá. 

2000

Edgardo Riveros receives the  Appointment by Eugene Gendlin as First Focusing Coordinator  for Chile. (Focusing Institute of New York, currently known as the International Institute of Focusing / TIFI).

2000

Book launch: “The new Experiencing Paradigm”. Author: Edgardo Riveros.

2001

The Focusing Institute of Chile is founded. Organization specialized in:

Training in Focusing, Training, Organizational Consulting, Clinical Care and  Education, under the  Experiential Approach of Eugene Gendlin and other Humanist schools.

2002 - 2003

The first promotion for Focusing Trainer (FT) in Chile is certified. Professors invited to the Certification ceremony, Robert Lee from USA, and Margarita Brenes Costa Rica. 

2004 - 2015

Appointment Professor Adolfo Ibañez University (UAI), Chile and Director of the annual Focusing Diploma   for   Focusing Trainer certification _cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b_cf-136 years .  Strategic Alliance  with Adolfo Ibáñez University and the Focusing Institute of Chile.

2005

Book Launch: Experiential and Existential Focusing. Author Edgardo Riveros. Special guest for the ceremony  Ann Weiser Cornell PHD, held at Universidad Adolfo Ibañez (UAI).

2008

Book Launch: Focusing a Paradigm for the Psychology of the XXI Century. Author: Edgardo Riveros.

2009

Realization of the Second Ibero-American Meeting of Focusing  in Ressort Marbella Chile. Organized and produced by the Focusing Chile Institute. Sponsored by  la  Universidad Adolfo Ibañez (UAI),  Diario el Mercurio Financiero.

Launch  of the first Edition Spanish Edition of “A Procedural Model, paraphrasing Eugene Gendlin”

2014

Brill Agency Foundation. Co-creation and Design”, a space to create brands and different visual products, with an experiential methodology based on the philosophy of the Implicit.

2015

Heart to Heart Focusing Book. Author: Edgardo Riveros. Special guests Catherine Torpey (Executive Director of the International Institute of Focusing / TIFI) and Victor Kullmer (Professor Emeritus of the Adolfo Ibáñez University / UAI). Santiago de Chile.

2016 - 2020

Appointment of Edgardo Riveros as a member of the Teaching Team of the Weeklong International Certification Programm, together with Jan Winhall and Jeffrey Morrison

2017

Foundation of the Continental School of Focusing in Spanish. B-learning modality. Specially designed space   to get to know Focusing as a bodily and cosmic phenomenon,   to learn and apply it to thousands of people, from different areas and disciplines around the world. Director: Gabriela Riveros Aguilar.

2019

Realization of the International Focusing Weeklong 2019, in Punta de Tralca, Chile. Event held for the first time  outside the United States, organized by the Focusing International Institute  in alliance  with the Focusing Chile Institute.

Launch of the Second Spanish Edition of the Book: A procedural model, paraphrasing Eugene Gendlin.

2019

Felt sense Conference 2019: Creativity.

Presentation of papers from the Focusing Chile Institute.

Annual program designed to support the Community  Focusing  of the American continent. Online mode. Languages: Spanish and Portuguese.
