The current program is it call ā€œFocusing trainer trainingā€. This stage attempts to respond to the interest that arise when carrying out the Focusing interaction, affirming the dimension of the Implicit and the universality of its applications while you teach.

Ā

This online proposal is based on A Process Model and constitutes an extension of the workshops already held in Poland, with a specialized program that absorbs the experience and content developed in the different events there, including Ā the training process of Our dream first generation course. ThisĀ  proposal consists in a 4Āŗ stage to complete a whole training program, equivalent to achieve a Focusing trainer certification from The Focusing Chile Institute, under the license of Eugene Gendlin.

Ā

The Focusing Trainer training program is designed to train people to teach focusing so that it can be spread in the world. These people must receive specialized training to deepen their theoretical and experiential knowledge of therapeutic and philosophical distinctions to teach Focusing to others with high effectiveness and precision.

Ā

Teaching Focusing implies knowing its Art and Technique very well and requires using an experiential learning methodology coherent with the Philosophy of the Implicit.

Ā

The present Focusing Trainer (F.T.) Program has two main purposes; on the one hand, to achieve that the student has a full knowledge and mastery of Eugene Gendlin's Focusing distinctions. On the other hand, to enable the future Focusing Trainer to show and teach others in an experiential, practical way and from the distinctions of the Philosophy of the Implicit.

Past, present and future of Focusing

The challenges of the present program must consider several cultural and historical factors, which can be highlighted considering current circumstances:

Ā

  1. Focusing has a 45-year presence in the world with a strong International Community led by a Board of Directors and The International Focusing Institute located in New York (T.I.F.I.). Thus, Focusing is present in almost 50 countries and has an approximate number of 300 Coordinators in the world today (the variation and increase in numbers is so dizzying that we prefer to use both approximate figures).Ā  This worldwide configuration of Focusing has a wide diversity of Focusing in its style and areas of application derived from that version of Focusing with its 6 steps published by its creator in Chicago (USA) between 1979 and 1981.

Ā

2.Ā Ā Ā Ā  The challenges of Focusing today are different from the time when Eugene Gendlin and Mary Hendricks masterfully spread Focusing around the world in a pre-Internet ERA. In those days there was very limited technology for diffusion: books, publications, International Focusing Congresses every year where presence was the norm, and communication was direct, face-to-face or by telephone.

Ā

3.Ā Ā Ā Ā  Today our founders are not here, and the current challenges are very different: the existing multiplicity of Focusing Methods, the Internet that allows a direct and fast connection, we have overcome the isolation of the Pandemic of Covid 19, and we use technology to be able to continue in our work of humanization and Focusing interaction.

Ā

4.Ā Ā  Today we have the work A Process Model that was only published in the original English in 2017, months after Eugene Gendlin's death. This work is relevant to face the future with Focusing and extend it to the Universal culture and achieve academic consolidation. Focusing has not reached the Academy of the world and the world needs it. We need to know a mature and robust Focusing of its own Philosophy.Ā  In this stage of orphanhood it is fundamental to look for spiritual guidance in the work of Eugene Gendlin and fortunately, the great work of diffusion of his recorded and filmed sessions as an empirical, historical, real testimony. In this respect we have two overwhelming advantages: the Philosophy of the Implicit and a Focusing that is well known as a technique. The challenge is to show it with the greatest realism to turn it into a scientific and social truth.

Ā

Bases

The present Program arises from the need to teach and disseminate Focusing with a vision inspired by the Philosophy of the Implicit. Eugene Gendlin created a Philosophy of the Implicit that describes the human being in a new dimension where feelings and experiential interactions can transformĀ  a person’s life, people’s life and a whole community. Focusing is a creature of the Implicit, a concrete way of dialoguing with the creation of meaning that happens in people and specifically in felt sense. In this course, students will be able to know in depth the Philosophy of the Implicit from the Focusing that they already have in their heart.

Ā

General outline of the program

Ā

Each Student will receive a specialized Focusing program from Focusing Chile Institute to become Focusing Trainer and the respective Certification with international validity, under the license of Eugene Gendlin.

Ā

This Program was developed with an experiential and practical methodology orientated to Focusing as a Phenomenon. This Focusing approach was created by The Focusing Chile Institute, as a result of our experience and expertise, for more than 40 years specializing in the phenomenon of human change in different areas.Ā

Focusing trainer certificate from The Focusing Chile Institute will be received online by the student immediately upon completion of the program. In 2026, students will have the additional option of receiving it in person at the certification ceremony to be held at the "Focusing sin Fronteras event in Chile" in December 2026.

How?Ā

An 7-month program has been developed, considering a Big group session and a Tutorial group meeting per month:

Big group session

1 day a month. (2 hours per session. From 7 to 9 PM Polish time)

(1 Friday per month). Minimum number of assistants: 8

Ā

Tutorial group meeting

1 day a month. (1 hour per session. From 7 to 8 PM Polish time)

(1 Friday per month).

Ā

Each session will be theoretical-practical in online mode, with a demonstration related to the topic of each session and practical exercises.

Development and Methodology

Online mode, for 2 hours we will have a theoretical-practical Focusing session with the whole group (Big group session), where we can go deeper experientially into each topic, having a demonstration of Focusing with the topic of each session. Carrying out practical and experiential exercises.

An extra monthly session is added to see special subjects, forming personalized theoretical and practical experience with Tutorial group meeting, promoting diversity to practice and teach Focusing on other spaces (Including contexts that are preferred by the students).

Ā

Nevertheless, in order to earn their certification, students will complete assigned practical activities (asynchronous activities, assignments, or additional practical exercises).

Ā
